Cuisipro Launches a Quick Response or QR Barcode Program
Connecting Consumers to Instant Information

Markham, Ontario – Cuisipro adds Quick Response (QR) codes to its Surface Glide Technology™ grater packaging to provide consumers with useful information when shopping. The QR codes are two-dimensional barcodes placed on the packaging. The codes are designed to act much like a well-informed store sales associate giving the features and benefits and demonstrating how to use the products.

The QR code is the latest and fasted growing direct-to-consumer information tool that is changing the way consumers learn about products and services. Traditionally, consumers read about the products in newspapers, magazines and online before going shopping. Now that information is available at the time and place of purchase. Consumers can find the information they want when they want it most, when they are shopping. This technology makes use of SmartPhones. It is easy. Consumers simply download a free application for scanning QR codes onto their smart phones. There are many applications (e.g. ScanLife). Consumers are then armed with everything they need to research on the go. Consumers scan the QR barcode on packages to get up to date, important shopping information, images, tips and videos. Very recognizable, the QR codes consist of black modules arranged in a square pattern on a white background.

Cuisipro placed QR codes on its new Surface Glide Technology etched graters so consumers can see the graters in action, demonstrated and explained. The Surface Glide Technology is a patent pending technology exclusive to Cuisipro. "Surface Glide is really the biggest advancement in kitchen grating technology in about 10 years when the photo etched blade was first adapted for kitchen use,” explains, Elizabeth Burns, marketing director, Cuisipro . “The photo etched blade made kitchen graters sharp. The Surface Glide Technology takes the photo etched blade a step further and makes the graters sharp and more productive --- grating more with less effort."
